Golden Boy Promotions puts on a spectacular event. Jaime Munguia vs Gabe Rosado lives up to Mexico vs Puerto Rico Rivalry in Anaheim, California.



Mungia and Rosado go to war and entertained the crowd with non stop action. The crowd gave a standing ovation at the end of the fight.

Rosado is the most difficult opponent to date, was able to make some adjustments. A bit surprised with how many clean punches Rosado was able to take throughout the fight, Rosado is a tough veteran with experience......-Mungia”

Mexico vs Puerto Rico


It was Golden Time on Saturday as Golden Boy gave us a classic to remember. Rosado was welcomed into the lion's den and was surprisingly booed more than ever in his career. The veteran wasn't bothered by it as he always does his best as an underdog. Mungia came out with an uproar of cheers and chants as Munguia feels at home with the crowd letting their presence known that he is their champion.


The fight started off with both veteran professionals taking their time in selecting their shots and being effective with the constant pressure. The fight seemed to go back and forth as Rosado was being crafty in choosing his angles and knowing what spots to fight in. Mungia was being effective in landing the 1,2 punch (jab followed by a straight). As the fight progressed, Mungia combinations was getting better as damage was shown on the face of Rosado entering round 4.


The crowd was loving the firepower from Munguia as he keeps moving forward firing his jab to the body and head of Rosado. Rosado experience and defensive skills made it difficult for Mungia to land the flurry of power punches Jamie likes to land. Rosado forces the fight to be in a phone booth and use aggressive crafty tactics. Mungia responded well as he didn't let Rosado maneuver and push Jaime around.


Both fighters were slugging it out with the crowd cheering loudly enough to tear the roof off from the Honda center. The bell couldn't even be heard. round 5 has begun and Munguia was still applying pressure with thunderous shots. Rosado was fighting smart and picking his spots. whenever they linked up. The crafty Gabe snuck quick hooks and uppercuts to Jaime's head. Half of those shots were being missed by the impressive improved defensive skills of Mungia latest training camp.


Round 6 and halfway through the fight and both men had bruises on their cheekbones. Rosado hit Mungia with three flush clean shots. Surprising Mungia was still up and kept fighting and forcing rosado back into

the ropes. The crowd was loving every moment and chanted "Mexico", the crowd were proud to see the display of bravery and ferocity of their countrymen. Rosado and Mungia were both landing significant power shots. Both men treating each other punching bags being rocked back and forth.


Rosado would take heavy hits and urged Jaime to hit him harder. Rosado the veteran was still alive and well and was trying to take the younger 25-year-old fighter to deep waters. This fight became a fight of will and attrition. Mungia was digging deep and was doing the best he can to knock out Rosado. Rosado's head and body moved around like a rag doll and still, just like a rag doll, was durable and standing.


At the Start of the final round, round 12. Rosado's face was beaten to a pulp with both eyes swollen shut and cut. One must have wondered how Rosado could see the punches being thrown from the power punching machine Mungia. Both men met at the center of the ring and give each other a nod and continue back to the action. Punches were being thrown left to right all across the ring. The war came to an end with Jaime Mungia still being undefeated and adding classic fight with Rosado to the Mexican vs Puerto Rican boxing rivalry. Mungia leaves the ring with crediting Rosado as his toughest fighter to date and is now ready for any challenges that await.
