Is Jake Paul the future of boxing?


Jake Paul has been nothing but controversial with his trash talking and limited skills to have the audacity to call out boxing legends and declaring that he will be world champion. Many critics such as Eddie Hearn will definitely agree that Jake Paul will never be a world champion. Regardless, one must give recognition to Jake Paul for bringing attention to the sport of Boxing.


Boxing doesn't need Jake Paul, but it does need fighters to be transparent and characters that displays emotions that entertains the audience. Jake Paul a social media influencer, knows very well how to capture the audience's attention. Jake Paul is not a talented boxer, but he does understand really well that a fight always draws interest. No matter the size, experience, or athleticism, human nature is drawn to combat. Fighting is even more compelling when there is drama, and personalities seeing differences. Paul does exceptionally well to get under his opponent's skin by tasteful insults that entices viewers to see the results of a fight between two fighters with differences.


Jake Paul is following a perfect blue print successful boxers used to catapult their careers with their antics before they enter the ring. Boxers such as Ali, Tyson, and Mayweather have done very well for themselves with their personalities before they even laced up the gloves. Jake Paul is doing the same, he is trash talking his way to the bank, and fans want to see how far a beginning fighter can go. Jake Paul should be applauded for being brave enough to enter the ring and recognized for his inspiration to people.


Jake Paul's inspiration may not be that of a role model or a hero. But instead of a young man, perusing his vision. He may never be world champion but his pursuit to get there is admirable and should be recognized. Jake Paul saved boxing because he reminded people that anyone can fight for what they believe in no matter what they initially start with. It's not how you start, but how you finish.
